The short version: EarWitness records audio so that you can review the sounds of your own night. That audio is stored only on your device, is never uploaded anywhere, and deletes itself automatically. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising.

When you tap START, EarWitness uses your device's microphone to record audio and measure sound levels until you stop it. This recording:
Nothing. EarWitness has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. We do not receive any information about you or your use of the app.
EarWitness offers an optional one-time in-app purchase, processed entirely by Google Play (and, in the future, Apple's App Store). We never see or store your payment details. Purchase receipts are handled by the store platforms under their own privacy policies.
EarWitness is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone — including children.
EarWitness records the sound environment of the room it is in. Laws about audio recording vary by location — in some places, recording conversations requires the consent of the people being recorded. You are responsible for using EarWitness in compliance with the laws that apply to you.
If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this policy at this address and note the new effective date above. Given the app's design — everything stays on your device — we don't expect this policy to change much.
